Summary: | The cumbersome and tedious nature of recruiting plethora of applicants in the public sector warranted different countries in Africa, which began to jettison the conventional recruitment method in favour of electronically guided recruitment exercises, with the introduction of e-recruitment applicants and other stakeholders cried of inefficiency and absence of good governance in the process of recruiting suitably qualified candidates. This study succinctly explores the applicability of good governance practices in the conduct of e-recruitment in Nigerian public sector. Qualitative method through face-to-face interview was used in collecting the primary data. The data was analysed and the results revealed that bad governance overshadowed good governance in the actual exercise.The paper finally recommended that transparency, accountability, non-partisanship and equity should be upheld in future recruitment exercises. |
