Summary: | In this paper, we propose a fast, simple yet effective
technique of indexing compressed images directly in their
bit streams rather than DCT coefficients or pixels. The
advantage of our proposed technique lies in the fact that
the need for decompression is completely eliminated. Our
technique only needs to examine the input bit stream and
construct indexing keys out of 4hem to characterize the
content of their corresponding compressed images. Initial
experiments encourage further investigation and support
our proposed design. |
