Summary:The Japanese quail was reared starting from 6 week old until 10 week old to investigate the effect of sources of dietary oil on laying performance from point of lay to 50% egg production. Four treatments were indicated with one act as control diet meanwhile 3% dietary oils used were palm oil, coconut oil and soybean oil combined together with the commercial quail feed. Total of quail used were 60 birds where one group of experiment contain three replicates. The parameter observed were feed consumption, feed conversion ratio (F.C.R), body weight of quail, laying percentage (%) and egg weight of the treatment. Significantly highest laying percentage was noted on 3% palm oil meanwhile the significantly lowest egg production observed on 3% coconut oil diet. It also revealed that palm oil was among the best dietary oil for laying performance of quail.
