Literature reported many factors as determinant of SMEs’ performance. Nevertheless, few studies have been attempted to prove the need and significance of the AF as predictor towards achieving higher level of SMEs' performance in Nigeria.Hence, this study aims to fill up the gap that exists in the extant literature by employing quantitative survey method.354 valid questionnaires were collected from SMEs’ owner/managers in Kano, Kaduna and Sokoto State in north-western Nigeria.Pearson zero-order correlation was employed to analyse the hypothesised relationship. The study found that, AF has significant positive association with SMEs' performance.
