Description
Summary:Psychosocial issue has been identified as one of the leading cause of stress at workplace. Past studies have shown that issues such as heavy workload, workplace conflict, working environment and commitment shown by organization affect employee’s stress level at workplace. The purpose of this study is to investigate the factors that may contribute to stress at workplace among Grade 29 Medical Assistant in Emergency Department at 6 Selangor State General Hospital. The study involved data collection using questionnaire which was later analyzed by the SPSS Version 25. A total of 185 respondents were selected to participate in this study. Relationship analysis showed that stress at workplace showed positive values with organizational commitment, conflict at workplace and working environment. Meanwhile, regression results showed that all factors have a significant influence on stress at workplace. Implication of the study proved that heavy workload affects the other 3 factors that may contribute to a decrease in motivational support for the employees to continue working which eventually jeopardize the working drive and job reputation. This unconvincing commitment may cause the organization fail to provide full support to the employee thus may contribute to job resignation. In return, the organization will also be significantly affected by the labour shortage.
