Previous studies suggest technology implementation in learning and teaching is useful to promote metacognitive skills but insufficient empirical results were reported. Therefore, the purpose of this meta-analysis is to identify the effect of technology implementation in learning and teaching on students' metacognition. Articles retrieved from Web of Science database were analyzed. Results show that technology implementation can influence students' metacognition depending on the type of technology being used.
