Description
Summary:This report presented a beam steering dipole antenna on incorporate polymeric and High Impedance Surface (HIS). In order to achieve the reconfigurability, two radio frequency (RF) switches are implemented on the antenna. By manipulating the RF switch state, the antenna is capable of reconfiguring its beam into two different directions at 28° and -28°. The RF switch will affected the antenna gain due to the electronic losses, thus High Impedance Surface (HIS) is applied on the antenna. In order to enhance the antenna bandwidth, a polymeric material is employed. With a dimension of 27.45 × 50.7 mm, the antenna has potential to sustain the gain of 6.27 dB and 1.24 GHz of bandwidth for all states.
