The respondents of this study were 140 science teachers in the district of Kuching, Sarawak. The study was in the form of descriptive research which used questionnaires and interviews as research instruments. The data collected from the questionnaires were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics while the findings of the 10 teachers interviewed were analyzed through content analysis. The Anova one way test was used to determine the significance of teaching experience, workload and the number of students in the class towards the conducting of laboratory activities. The findings showed that the level of preparation before conducting laboratory activity was high while the levels of actions taken during and after conducting laboratory activity were very high and high respectively. Meanwhile science teachers’ perception on the importance of laboratory activity was high and the contraints faced by the science teachers in Kuching district was at a very low level. The interview findings showed that science teachers in Kuching district still lacked understanding towards science process skills.
