Description
Summary:Reported cases of Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb) infection in Pongo pygmaeus (Bornean orangutan) have been alarming as threat. The present study looks on the pharmacophore modelling of the Mtb active site (from Protein Data Bank, PDB) with the conventional tuberculosis regimens such as rifampin, isoniazid, pyrazinamide, ethambutol and streptomycin and potential tuberculosis regimens include fluoroquinolones and diarylquinoline. Pharmacophore modelling was performed using Ligandscout 3.10 to search the potential tuberculosis regimen using structure based. Screening among the seven regimens used, only four regimens which are ethambutol, rifampin, streptomycin and fluoroquinolones have shared similar features to generate phamarcophore with Mtb active site.
