Summary:Performance management is important in an organization as it reviewed the employees from the starting of employment until termination of employment comes in. There are many elements in performance management, for example, goals setting, training and feedback. Despite performance management, the organizational commitment and employee empowerment should be focused as well by the organization. In this research, the chosen performance management elements are goal setting, feedback and accountability which will be the independent variables of the study. Furthermore, empowerment is one of the focuses of the employees towards an organization when looking for job and it is the authority and responsibilities given to the employees to complete their tasks or jobs without consulting the superiors. Employee empowerment acts as a mediator in this study towards the relationship between the selected factors of performance management and organizational commitment. The online questionnaire survey was utilised by the researcher to collect the data from the 81 respondents from a multinational company in Malaysia. Spearman correlation analysis and Jamovi Lavaan R Package analysis were used to analyse the data collected. The results showed that employee empowerment acts as the mediator between the relationships of performance management and organizational commitment in Malaysia context. This study contributed to the literature which a new understanding about performance management, employee empowerment and organizational commitment is formed. This study provides recommendations for organization, Human Resource Development and literature.
