This study provides an insight into the relationship between emotional intelligence (EQ), test anxiety (TA) and academic achievements among first-year full-time enrolled Accounting students at Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) in Kota Samarahan, Sarawak. Quantitative approach was used to measure the variables in the study. Survey data on the respondents ( N = 66) was analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistical analysis in SPSS. Pearson correlation and independent sample T-test was utilized to determine the existence and strength of relationships between variables. Results showed that there is no significance relationship found between EQ and TA, a negative relationship found between EQ and academic achievements, and a negative relationship between TA and academic achievements. Analysis from finding indicate a necessity to create an awareness among the lecturers to pay adequate attention to the importance of EQ and TA in the delivery of courses , to enhance the academic performance of students.
