Description
Summary:The Sarawak Talent Development Policy provides a strategic roadmap to cultivate a future-ready workforce that supports Sarawak’s socio-economic goals under the Post-COVID-19 Development Strategy 2030. Centered on eight strategic thrusts—education and training, workforce development, industry engagement, innovation, inclusivity, governance, sustainability, and continuous improvement—the policy addresses skills mismatches, lifelong learning, and inclusivity to ensure a resilient and competitive workforce. Key initiatives include aligning education and training with industry needs, fostering innovation and entrepreneurship, promoting equal opportunities, and equipping the workforce with green skills for a sustainable economy. By 2030, the policy aims to achieve measurable outcomes such as 40% STEM enrolment, reducing unemployment to below 1.2%, and developing a globally competitive workforce. Collaborative efforts among government, industries, and academia will ensure the successful implementation and monitoring of this framework, enabling Sarawak to become a hub for talent development and inclusive growth.
