CBM is a transmission capability margin reserved by load serving entities to meet the generation reliability requirements. In recent years, there are several methods developed to compute the CBM. However, the methodologies do not consider the reliability of an interconnected system in the CBM determination. This paper presents the computation of CBM considering the reliability of an interconnected system. It is important to consider the reliability of an interconnected system in the CBM determination because the interconnected system is used as a medium in transferring the power to an area in order to overcome the deficiency of generation reliability. The modified IEEE 24-bus Reliability Test System (RTS) is used to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method in determining the CBM considering reliability of an interconnected system. 2011-01-07T05:18:39Z 2011-01-07T05:18:39Z 2010-06-23 Working Paper p. 337-344 978-1-4244-7127-0 http://ieeexplore.ieee.org/stamp/stamp.jsp?tp=&arnumber=5559242 http://hdl.handle.net/123456789/10434 en Proceedings of the 4th International Power Engineering and Optimization Conference (PEOCO) 2010 Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE)
