Description
Summary:The objective of the study was to develop the in vitro protocol for Borreria laevicaulis by applied the in vitro culture of mature nodal explants. The cultures were supplemented of MS media with various concentrations and combination of auxins and cytokinins (BAP, Kn, NAA and 2,4-D). After 8 weeks cultured, the explants were observed and the maximum number of shoots, flowers and roots were formed in the MS medium that fortified with 2.0 mg/L BAP + 0.1 mg/L 2,4-D with the mean of shoot was 56.25, mean of flowers formed was 4.75 meanwhile mean for root induction was 16.50. From the research, the cytokinin like BAP was studied had a strong effect for the flower induction, meanwhile 2,4-D has greater result compare to NAA. Therefore, the in vitro flowering of Borreria laevicaulis was developed and this will lead for further study of flowering phenomenon n Rubiaceae family.
