Summary:The adaptation of novel into film has become a trend in many countries worldwide. The trend of adapting books to movie can also be seen in Malaysia. With many novels that have been adapted into films, there has been a lot of discussion about the difference of the content in novels and films. Therefore, this research will be conduct to study about the difference in content from novel to film focusing on Tombiruo novel by Ramlee Awang Murshid. The purpose of this study is to study the difference of the storyline between novel and film of Tombiruo, to identify the lack of similarity from the aspects of cultural representation in novel adapted to film and lastly to determine the rating of Tombiruo novel after the film released. A qualitative method will be use by using in depth interview as research instrument to apply in this study. The data will be collected from an editor from Karangkraf, a past researcher of Tombiruo and three Ramlee Awang Murshid's fans.
