Description
Summary:Infertility is associated with a high emotional burden that has been researched extensively. Psychological distress, anxiety, and depression problems can be detected with a fertility specialist on the day of the first appointment, which should be taken into consideration when presenting the idea of infertility to patients or explaining treatment choices (Desiree García, 2013). Therefore, it is important for the physician to possess adequate knowledge of counseling and especially excellent communication skills to provide patients with comprehensive information about fertility care (Olga Bautista, 2013). The aim of this research is to investigate the ambience aspects at a government fertility clinic accordance to the International Health Facility Guidelines (iHFG). The research will look at the situation in the waiting areas of government IVF facilities in Malaysia. The research is based on data obtained from a survey questionnaire of the ambience aspects and how it affects the visitors and staff’s comfort and emotion at the waiting area of the clinic. The data was analyzed to evaluate the listing and ranking the good ambience aspect towards the waiting area of the fertility clinic. The research suggested that management should encourage further details in understanding why ambience aspects at a fertility clinic waiting area are so important. Ambience aspects are not focusing on the patients only. It is also affected by the staffs at the clinic. The results of the study also suggested that designers are responsible to take the ambience aspects into considerations to provide a comfortable facility to visitors especially infertile patients.
