總結:The call for the 5Ps of the sustainable development goals i.e. People, Prosperity, Planet, Partnership, and Peace requires leaders who are not only able to command the agenda, but with a strong sense of leadership, which is the key competency for a leader to motivate and influence his or her followers to accomplish an agenda and ensure it is sustainable. While there are other leadership styles, it is fair to say that the “Humanising leadership” could be the leading answer to the shortcomings among our leaders. A humanised leader would have the ability to represent, address, consolidate and manoeuvre within human traits and elements. By elements, it includes everything within the human livelihood ecosystems such as food and natural resources on top of human relationships. Hence, the scope of humanising leadership goes beyond just focusing on human personal progress but rather on how humans and nature could co-exist – together. Humanising leadership is very much associated with Values-based leadership (VBL), that describes behaviours that are rooted in ethical and moral foundations. Besides values, leaders are to be installed with the other range “quotients” besides the well-known Intelligence Quotient (IQ) to reflect a wider range of human-required intelligence in leaders such as the Emotional Intelligence (EQ), Cultural Intelligence (CQ) and Spiritual Intelligence (SQ). It is necessary for leaders to acquire all levels of intelligence to be able to survive and excel in the current setting especially Cultural Intelligence (CQ), one of the most important skills to master. It is therefore imperative that the development of future humanised leaders must follow a humanised education model that focuses on, not only IQ, but all human-required intelligence. In other words, a structured humanising education model is much needed to nurture and produce humanised leaders especially in the HEIs. Some of the best ways to enhance and nurture leadership competencies in HEI are through experiential learning, un-learn and re-learn with a deep sense of humility among the institutional community members. Hence, Humanising Leadership concept will create awareness among the HEIs community at large in nurturing future leaders through holistic education.
