Description
Summary:Enzyme is widely used in industrial as it shows many benefits. It function to make the reaction faster gave more advantages compared to chemical as catalysts. However, the status of the enzyme in term of Halal has been argued especially in food industries due to its origins which mostly from the animals. Beside animals and plants, microorganism plays a vital role in producing various types of enzymes naturally. Antarctica is a new frontier with diverse microbial community that shows potential for bio prospecting. Psychophiles have capability to produce enzymes that work in cold conditions. Some of the enzymes extracted from these psychrophiles suit the industrial requirement. It is very useful harnessing and bio prospecting these enzymes due to it greater potentials and chances for industrial usage in the future.
