Utilization of Waste Eggshell as Potential Adsorbent for Removal of Oil and Grease from Water

The main purpose of this project is to study the potential of using waste eggshell as activated carbon in removal of oil and grease from industrial waste water. The dried raw waste eggshell is first grinded into particle size of 0.25 mm, then chemically activated using activating agent, Zinc chlo...

The characterization of waste eggshell based activated carbon is carried out using the surface area analyser (Micromeritics ASAP 2020) and the Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) to determine which set of parameters produces the largest surface area estimated using the BET theory (SBET) which is directly related to the effectiveness of that particular adsorbent.
