Seven types of selected herbs available in Terengganu known as Nilam (Pogostemon cablin), Kuda Belang (Aphelandra squarrosa), Buah Keras (Adhatoda vasica), Sesudu (Euphorbia nerrifola), Lelipan (Pedilanthus tithymaloides), Gelenggang (Casia alata) and Ekor Kucing (Uraria picta) was determined based on the widely used by local Terengganu people as traditional herbal remedies. Methanol, chloroform, and ethyl acetate extracts from these seven herbs were screened for their potential antibacterial activity against food microorganisms (Escherichia coli, Salmonella typhi, Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus pneumonia).
