Although low-carbon steels are produced in the largest amounts compared to other types of steels, low-carbon steels worn and corroded easily thus their useful lifetime was short. Therefore, an experimental research was conducted to improve the corrosion resistance and mechanical properties of low-carbon steel by gas nitriding. However, nitriding process is most likely to be affected by different nitriding parameters and variables.
