Temenggor lake is used to build hydroelectric power plants and provide water to residents of Perak and Penang. Temenggor lake also is a part of eco-tourism location in Malaysia where certified by The Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah. According to the information provided during the interview, the total number of houseboats that are registered with the association of houseboats is 40 units. Mostly of the houseboat has three rooms, two dormitories, bathrooms, kitchen utensils, small boats, and a raft for tourist use.
