Description
Summary:Biomass has a potential to be one of the energy alternative solutions for the future. Substituting traditional fuels with the biomass has been considered as a promising way to meet the urgent environmental targets. In Malaysia. the availability of biomass makes it as one of the promising solutions for power production. Fuelling micro-gas turbines with producer gas offers several advantages such as low emissions and fuel flexibility. Although the benefits which can be achieved by running micro gas turbines with producer gas. few studied were conducted in this area. In this work. the performance and emissions of a micro-gas turbine running on LPG and two simulated producer gas fuels in a dual fuel mode were studied experimentally. In addition. the effects of the producer gas moisture content on the emissions were studied. Also. an investigation on the exergetic behavior of the system was conducted. In order to study the performance and emissions, a low cost micro-gas turbine was developed.
