IMPACT OF CONTROLLED DISSOLUTION KINETICS ON PORE NETWORK MODELING IN CARBONATE ROCKS

Description
Summary:Dissolution results in the modification of pore networks in carbonate rocks. This is the key concept that determines the degree of success of EOR programs such as chemical flooding. Knowledge on dissolution also allows an evaluation of the integrity of carbonate reservoirs with regards to carbon capture and storage. However, the dissolution induced changes in pore network encountered in different fabrics within carbonate rocks are not fully understood as some carbonate reservoir stimulation program do not produce expected results
