Description
Summary:A Compact Dual Band Microstrip Patch Antenna (CDBMPA) for LoRa IoT applications was designed and simulated on an FR-4 substrate using CST MWS® software. Four slots were created on the surface of the antenna to alter its current distribution, increase the path through which the current travels on the surface of the antenna and consequently produce dual bands. The antenna with a total dimension of 60 65 1.6 mm3 has achieved a gain of 1.7 dBi and 2.56 dBi at 433 MHz and 868 MHz respectively. Previously reported antennas for LoRa applications were mostly single bands with comparatively large dimensions. The proposed antenna will be a good candidate for LoRa IoT application in which multiband and miniaturized antenna is highly required. © 2022 IEEE.
