This study was conducted to identify (a) the level of job satisfaction and commitment (b) the assessment of the level of satisfaction and commitment of employees working in terms of gender, (c) the relationship between the leadership of the director of job satisfaction, and (d) the relationship between leadership Affairs Director Students with satisfaction and commitment of the staff of the Student Affairs Department, Universiti Utara Malaysia. This study uses Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs Theory (1954) to study the job satisfaction and work commitment and Theory of Information Access Information House (1974) to study the behavior of the leadership.A total of 120 respondents participated in this study.The instrument consisted of 50 items regarding job satisfaction, 18 items of work commitments and 35 items about leadership behaviors of the director.The findings of this study showed that, first, the level of job satisfaction and commitment of the staff of Student Affairs Department of Universiti Utara Malaysia is high. Second, there was no significant difference between job satisfaction and work commitment of male and female staff, Third, studies have shown a significant relationship between all the director in terms of leadership behavior directed leadership, leadership behavior support, participative leadership behavior and behavior achievement oriented with job satisfaction and job commitment.
