Summary:With the emergence of cryptocurrencies, the international money transfer industry is experiencing significant disruption. This paper aims to explore how cross-border money transfer processes are being altered by cryptocurrencies, and how these emerging technologies are impacting the global financial system and related regulations. We review the traditional methods of transferring funds across borders and contrast them with the new paradigms introduced by cryptocurrencies.
