Description
Summary:This case discusses various reasons related to the staff turnover in the event industry from an event manager perspective. Since the establishment of JSP, human resource management has been one of the challenges for Sidek, owing to the nature of the event industry. As an event manager, he must ensure smooth day-to-day operations in the fast-paced event industry by managing a team composed of permanent staff members, contractors and volunteers. Moreover, the position of JSP as one of the leading event companies in Malaysia in terms of organising world-class events, such as GTF, has driven Sidek to be selective in arranging his team. The case study emphasises on the selection criteria of Sidek and discusses the causes of staff turnover from his point of view.
