Computer science Augmented reality (AR) is a technology that integrate computer graphic with real physical world that ensures computer vision in 3 dimensional (3D) virtual objects towards more fun and motivates users to explore further especially in learning. AR enable user to interact with the 3D model developed through the screen of the mobile devices which connect users towards more engaging learning environment. However, literature revealed that preschool are only focusing more traditional method of teaching which lacks engagement among children’s. This paper studies how AR was used effectively in enhancing the learning experience of preschool children in learning Japanese language more interactively. An AR mobile application prototype was developed to teach Japanese language to preschool children which allows the children to learn the language at anytime and anywhere with the capability of mobile devices to be used by all range of age. Preliminary evaluation was conducted through observation and survey was done among the preschool teachers to analysis on the effectiveness of the application developed. Results from the observation and survey shows that the effectiveness of the mobile application was satisfactory and acceptable by teachers and the children.
