Description
Summary:Road accident is one of the alarming problems in Malaysia nowadays. Statistics show the number of road accident and road fatalities in Malaysia is increasing over the years. The cause behind road accident causation is predominantly due to the drivers’ dangerous and risky driving behavior. This behavior is further being explained through the individual attitude. Therefore to address this problem, this review paper is aimed to investigate the relationship between attitude and the drivers’ risky driving behavior.A systematic review process has been undergone through several databases such as Scopus, Wiley Online Library, Web of Science and Emerald.A total of 3,397 findings have been yielded from all the search databases. After the reviewed and screened process (i.e. title screening, abstract screening and full text reviewed), only 17 related studies that fulfill the reviewer’s inclusion criterion have been chosen for the final review process. Result shows that 16 out of 17 studies confirmed the significant relationship between the attitude and risky driving behavior, whereas the remaining one study revealed non-significant relationship. In overall, the findings help the related bodies to outline the best preventive measure in order to educate the public on the safe driving and to further avoid this problem from worsening.
