The interest on the acquisition of high quality software has increased among various stakeholders. However, some pertaining problems are still being debated such as: (i) defining mechanism for assessing software product quality; (ii) ensuring and offering software quality guarantee; and (iii) ensuring the continuous improvement of quality of software products.Therefore, a practical mechanism for assessment and certification is required to resolve these uncertainties. The fundamental model of certification or SCM-prod has been developed, evaluated and tested. It shows that the model and methodology are feasible and practical to be implemented in real world environment. Thus, a comprehensive model and support tool with intelligent aspects included is developed.
