This paper discusses Malaysia's REFIT scheme and the benefits of implementing the FIT policy in the solar sector.The Malaysian solar energy sector can preserve the country's oil and gas reserves, thus reducing carbon production and hindering environmental degradation. This paper examines the advantages and disadvantages of the Malaysian FIT model, and it concludes with an analysis of this design, with a focus on its implications for investors and for society.
