G Geography (General) The Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) refers to a business's policy to comply with legal and ethical standards. While research has shown that hotel customers tend to have positive perceptions of hotels that maintain CSR policies, very little is known about employees' perceptions. In this study the researchers focused on how CSR is perceived by employees of green hotels, since by definition a ―green‖ hotel takes responsibility for its impact on the environment.Data was obtained from 63 employees of green hotels in Koh Samui, Thailand. The subjects completed a questionnaire about the policies of their hotels. Analysis of the data shows that the hotel employees perceive their hotels engaging in three categories of social responsibility – legal, ethical, and philanthropic. The results suggest that the employees' perceptions of their hotels' social responsibility were influenced by the activities associated with the green hotels' CSR policies. 2014-11-05 Conference or Workshop Item PeerReviewed application/pdf en http://repo.uum.edu.my/13326/1/43.pdf Marchoo, W. and Rungsimantuchart, L.
