Description
Summary:The aim of this study is to evaluate the perception of residents who were currently undergoing the drug rehabilitation programme at the Serenti Centre regarding the effectiveness of the counselling sessions that were offerred to them. This study was specifically carried out to analyse the effectiveness of the counselling sessions based on the respondents’ age, number of hours spent Zulkhairi Ahmad & Profesor Dr. Mahmood Nazar Mohamed , undergoing counselling and their rehabilitation treatment phase. Besides that, this study was also conducted to assess the correlation between the residents’self respect and the effectiveness of the counseling sessions at the rehabilitation centre. A total of 205 respondents were randomly chosen to answer the Comprehensive Scale of Psychotheraphy Session Contructs (CSPSC) questionnaire as well as the Rosenberg Self-esteem Scale (RSES) questionnaire. This study revealed that there was no correlation between the age factor and the perception of the effectiveness of the counselling sessions. However, there was a significant correlation between the number of counselling hours and the effectiveness of the counselling sessions. Besides that, this study also revealed that respondents who had high self respect also perceived the counselling sessions to be effective.
