Description
Summary:DPEMIS is a web-based applications prototype developed to enable the disabled persons in Malaysia to apply for jobs that have been advertised by the companies. The disabled users comprise of the learning and physically disabled, the hearing and the visually impaired. The objectives of this project are that job recruitments for these disabled be made online and to ensure that this prototype is accessible by the disabled in Malaysia. The methodology use to developed this prototype is the Rapid Application Development (RAD) approach. Six users from the companies and five disabled users are chosen to evaluate the system. The questionnaire is adapted from Development of an Instrument Measuring User Satisfaction of the Human-Computer Interface in which the authors are Chin, Diehl and Norman (1988). The A-Prompt toolkit is also use to analyse the web accessibility. Though these evaluations answered the two research questions in its system functionality and web disabled in Malaysia. This is because the findings show that many of the disabled who stay in the northern region are rather weak in English language. However this prototype can be use as it has passed the accessibility test and is accessible by the disabled users in Malaysia.
