Summary:Private corporat should be involved in enhancing the well-being of the community through the corporate social responsibility (CSR) program as stated in the Indonesian Constitution. Many corporation operating in Riau have not fulfilled their CSR obligations that their presense has not increased the well-being of the community. This study analyzes the implementation of CSR and its impacts towards the well-beings of the community in Riau. This study apllies qualitative method. Primary data was collected from interviews with 30 community leaders and six corporate leaders. Meanwhile, secondary data were based on the company profiles of 22 corporations. The objectives of the study are, first, to examine the involvement of corporations in implementing CSR: second, to discuss the varios forms of CSR conducted by corporations; and third, to analyze the way in which CSR can enhance the well-being of community in economics, education and health. The finding reveal that corporations help the community by delivering business courses and providing capital to small business owner. In regards to education, corporations help renovating the school, distributing books to the library, donating school stationaries, computers and providing scholarship. In relation to health, corporations also provide medical and dental equipments, donating blood, building wells and donating ambulance. However, the finding also reveal that the in implementing CSR tends to focus on the poor natives while disregarding the poor Chinese. In addition to help is also skewed towards Moslem people while community from other relegions such as Buddha, Konghucu Hindu tend to be sidelined. However, PT. Chevron has also helped Christian group in the area where it is operating. Finally, the impletations of CSR is not based on the principles of transparency, accountability, fairness, and sensitivity towards the stakeholder. The helps given to society do not meet the real need of society and therefore, they do not really improve the wll-being of the community. As such, future research should conducted on larger scale to examine the implementation of CSR in Riau
