Description
Summary:The EduWave application is a dynamic Web-based system in Jordan. It has become necessary to enhance the current training materials for EduWave. The existing material, which is the e-book is said to be passive, not motivating and not friendly. Therefore, to overcome the passiveness and not motivating nature of the e-book, it is proposed that the e-book is replaced with a more interactive multimedia book (IMM-Book). Two objectives were formulated and these are to design an IMM-Book as a training material for EduWave system and to evaluate the IMM-Book in terms of interface design and content. The contents of the developed IMM-Book training courses provide the new teacher to read the training information about using the EduWave system. The IMM-Book contents also support video shows and recorded audio that are inserted in the IMM-Book pages. To evaluate the IMM-Book in terms of interface design and content, 10 potential end-users tried the book for a certain period. Some of the measured dimensions; Ease of Use, Screen Design, Information Presentation and Aesthetics all received high average values (out of 10 scale), which indicate that the new teachers agreed that, the IMM-Book is easy to use (mean = 7.5), follow the design principles (mean = 7.5), has clear presentation of information (mean = 7.6), and is pleasing to look at (mean = 7.3). Out of these 4 values, the Screen Design standard deviation is the lowest (o = 1.716), indicating the new teachers were in better agreement to this dimension. Furthermore, the Overall Functionality of the IMM-Book is seen as functioning well (mean = 8.20). This dimension also has the least standard deviation (o = 1.476), indicating the least dispersion from the mean.
