Summary:The purpose of this study is to determine whether the influence of demographic factors such as gender, ethnic and physical play any significant role in the relationship between emotional intelligence and students' achievement. In this study 198 students from Sekolah Menengah Doktor Burhanuddin Taiping in the district of Larut, Matang and Selama are involved . The Cronbach value obtained is 0.60. In this study 5 hyphoteses are constructed. They are tested using t-test and ANOVA. A11 the hypotheses are tested at the 0.05 significant level. The results of the study show there is no significant relationship between emotional intelligence based on demographic factors and students' academic achievement. This study discusses the findings of previous researches and their implications on the present study. This study also presents several proposals for future studies. This study is also important to the Ministry of Education to see whether there is any significant relationship found between emotional intelligence and students' achievement.
