Description
Summary:The purpose of this study is to examine the level of awareness amongst a variety of OSH forklift drivers on the dangers of using and operating a forklift. The OSH awareness perspective evaluation was carried out by selecting several variables consists of a dependent variable and a number of independent variables. The dependent variable is OSH awareness while the independent variables are employee demographics (age, education level, work experience and attending training), behaviour and training. This study was carried out on 384 forklift drivers working in different manufacturing industries in Selangor. The data was collected through questionnaire conducted on the forklift drivers, and subsequently, analyzed using three (3) different techniques consist of One Way Anova, T - Test and Correlation from the Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) version 19.0. Results showed that employee demographics (age, education level, work experience and attending training) have significant differences with the level of awareness amongst the forklift drivers while behaviour and training have significant relationship with the level of awareness amongst the forklift drivers. To ensure the continuation of this study, it is proposed for the study to be implemented in other states and extended to other industries beyond the manufacturing sectors
