Description
Summary:The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between attitude and science self-efficacy among Form Four Bumiputera and non-Bumiputera students and Science achievement. This study was also conducted to determine whether there is significant difference in attitude and science self efficacy among the Form Four students. The sample were chosen randomly from 167 Form Four students from 2 schools in Lahad Datu District took the Science 'Teras' subject. The four points scale survey instruments consisting of 23 items of attitude and 15 items for science self-efficacy was used to collect the data. The data obtained was analysed using the descriptive statistical method to determine the frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation. The inference statistical method which includes t-test and Pearson Correlation were also used. The Pearson Correlation test was used to determine the correlation among the variables studied while the Independent t-test was used to determine the differences in attitude and science self-efficacy of the students. The findings showed that the Bumiputera students possessed more positive attitude and science self-efficacy towards Science achievement. Meanwhile, there was no significant difference in attitude and science self-efficacy of the students against race. The Pearson Correlation test showed that there was no relationship between attitude and science self efficacy and Science achievement however there was positively significant relationship between attitude and science self-efficacy among Form Four Bumiputera and non-Bumiputera students in Lahad Datu
