Summary:Purpose of this research is to study emotion quotient level among the Form 4 and Form 5 student and relationship with reading interest among the student. 162 Form 4 and Form 5 student of Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan St. Anthony had taken as respondent in this research. Instrument had used in this research is 'Emotion Intelligence Scale' by Teh Fui Kim (2001). He had translated the origin version 'Emotional Intelligence Scale' construct by Schutte et.al (1998) based on EQ Conceptual Model Salovey & Mayer (1990). Instrument had used to collect and analysis data is investigate based on Likert Scale Method. There are 2 types of data analysis had usec in this research namely descriptive analysis and inferency analysis. Descriptive analysis had used is frequency, percentage and median to report the demography data of the student. Inferency analysis had used is Pearson Correlation and one sample t-test use to report emotion quotient level. Through analysis of Pearson Correlation in this research shown that there are (r=0.93, p<.01). As a conclusion, the result of Pearson Correlation analysis in this research had reject the nu1 hypothesis that has positive correlation relationship. While through the analysis of one sample t-test shown that there are significant differentiate in emotion quotient for different sex of student (t=38.74, p<.05). One sample t-test analysis for studying course and estimate of family also significant own for (t=42.22, p<.05) and (t=29.36, p<.05). Based on research, the researcher suggests KPM will construct the program to encourage student to read and not only depend on NILAM program as a batchmark for reading level among the student and not apprehend although the reality is not same.
