Summary:This study aims to identify problems and challenges faced by law enforcement officers in discharging their duties to the detriment of work performance and has resulted in discontent arose among those who deal with the Enforcement Division, Ministry of Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumer Affairs(Enforcement ministry). Therefore this study is to identify problems that cause poor performance and methods can be used to increase performance of enforcement officers. For this reason,a study has been made in the Office of Domestic Trade,Cooperatives and Consumer Affairs Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur(PPDNKK WPKL).A total of 16 respondents,comprising Enforcement Officer Grade N41, Assistant Enforcement Officer Grade N27 and Enforcement Assistant Grade N17 involved in this study.For the purpose of obtaining information,qualitative methods were used in the unstructured interview technique performed on all the respondents involved.Information collected through this study was subsequently analyzed in the conventional way to get the themes to the problems faced.The study conducted found that the main problem that has caused the poor performance of law enforcement officers is the lack of officers, the attitude of the complainant,logistical problems, a lot of work load and intervention stakeholders. This study proposes that made increasing the number of enforcement officers, bringing the ministry's Enforcement Division as a department, provide opportunities for equal promotion, the senior management changes, the course requirements to increase competency levels as well as awards for outstanding service other than the Excellent Service Award.
