Description
Summary:The main aim of this study is to investigate the impact of accessibility, accommodation, facilities, and ancillary services on the growth of tourism in the city of Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Problems with accessibility, accommodation, amenities, and ancillary services such as poor quality, inadequate accommodation services, limited dining options, recreational activities, or cultural attractions less attractive to visitors can adversely affect tourism growth. Therefore, a survey instrument (questionnaire) was developed by adapting existing literary works to align with the specific parameters of the study. This study involved n=229 respondents who were tourists in Dubai, and employees in tourism-related sector, such as tour guides and commercial marketing department in Dubai have facilitated the distribution of questionnaire. For statistical analysis, this study incorporated a comprehensive inferential analysis of ANOVA, correlation, and regression with a descriptive methodology and approach. The result shows that the dependent variable (tourism growth) have significant predictive power. The independent variables (accessibility, accommodation, facilities, and additional services) in the proposed model explain 69% of the change in Dubai tourism growth. The study recommends conducting similar studies in other places such as other emirates or neighbouring countries. The study also recommends conducting similar studies using a different methodology such as the qualitative approach, which may infer additional variables that have not been included in this research.
