Description
Summary:The world is undergoing a new and deeper change known as Industry 4.0, which is built on virtualization and the connectivity of intelligent industrial items. Thus, the development of information technology and the widespread use of computers, internet and mobile phones have had an impact on the financial sector among all other sectors. Indeed, Fintech innovations can be counted among the examples. This gives a chance to look more deeply at the research problems and trends in fintech. The purpose of this research is to (1) investigate the impact of IR 4.0 on FinTech in Malaysia; (2) identify relevant policies supporting FinTech in Malaysia; and (3) elaborate on the challenges posed by the development of FinTech in Malaysia. This study's new concept incorporates theoretical advances to financial technology. Using Kitchenham's systematic literature review approach, as well as thematic analysis, meta-analysis, and observation to validate the quality of literature and analysis, the findings of this study provide a theoretical foundation for fintech research from an information systems perspective, including the formulation and development of fintech technology concepts. The findings of this study have identified that there was vast impact of technology development in financial sector with the support of the regulators and the regulatory sandbox which provisions innovation. Also, the importance of awareness, financial literacy in the digital era and the need to address the talent shortage in fintech industry were few among other examples of challenges faced by FinTech in Malaysia.
