Description
Summary:Nowadays, mobile information technologies are spreading fast and wide across countries. Mobile devices have potential to be integrated into the classroom nowadays. The traditional lecture and tutorial in class is still continuing but with the fast increasing of smartphones, it requires an increasing portion of long life learning (LLE) elements. Many higher educational providers (HEP) are having difficulty in coming up with an effective method in producing pervasive learning. This issue is rising to the higher level on mobile platform due to the increasing popularity of the smartphones and touchscreen phones today such as Android, iOS, Windows, and Symbian based phone. Statistics collected in 2010 reported that more than 300 million smartphones are produced and sold which takes off 19 percent of the total mobile communications device sales. It recorded a 72 percent of increase compared to year 2009. The aim of the paper is to discuss a process for developing a usability mobile e-learning system framework that can reduce or overcome the existing usability issues concerning end-users. This is a preliminary study whereby the data collection has not been carried out yet.
