Description
Summary:Waste characterization study involves investigation of proximate, ultimate and calorific value analysis. This study is focused on UTP campus waste based on individual waste components. Only main components were selected for further analysis. Characterization study will enable operator to recycle, recover or sent waste for final disposal at optimum condition. Main component of campus waste, papers which contribute to 38 % contain high energy, 3494.2 cal/g as well as food waste that provides energy recovery opportunities. Plastics contain highest energy value of 12,403 cal/g compare to other components but its present in low quantity out of whole campus waste.
