Description
Summary:Antenna is used as a transmitter and device for radiating or receiving electromagnetic waves in free space is applied in Seabed Logging (SBL). However, designing an antenna to propagate strong electromagnetic (EM) wave remains a challenge. This paper discussed the design and optimization of antenna types namely dipole, triangle, rectangle and hexagon with various materials and length. Simulation using Applied Wave Research (AWR) Design Environment Evaluation shows the radiation pattern of antenna and phase (0 - 360 degree) was carried out. The highest power of antenna obtained via simulation is 2.835 W which was for hexagon. Aluminum rods (100mm diameter) and copper wire (0.8mm diameter) with different length of 20cm, 40cm and 60cm were used to investigate patterns of voltage peak-to-peak (Vp-p) at the detector. It was found that the copper wire gave that a higher Vp-p. Nickel Zinc Ferrite has been successfully synthesized by self combustion technique. X-Ray Diffraction of the nickel zinc ferrites demonstrated that it can be used as a magnetic feeder for the transmitter. © 2009 American Institute of Physics.
