Description
Summary:Most virtual environments encompass more space than can be viewed from a single vantage point. To obtain different views of the scene efficiently necessitates users to be able to navigate effectively within these environments. Current virtual environment (VE) systems employ a number of techniques for navigation such as walking on a plane, or flying through space and locomotion. In fact, a 3D world is only as useful as the user’s ability to get around and interact with the information within it. This paper proposes a design framework for constructing sketch-based technique for navigation in 3D cluttered virtual environment. Previous and related works in integrating cluttered virtual environment with sketching technique were discussed. The development stages that have been encountered throughout this research are also being discussed for future guidelines. Implementation and relevance of this technique in potential application areas are highlighted.
