Description
Summary:For virtual environment to succeed in its area of application, it must have the viewing ability from different views. Geographic Information System (GIS) has been a common tool for such interactive navigation. It can be used to work with Global Positioning System (GPS) to enhance its capabilities. In short, GIS is used to tie together spatial information to create a map, while GPS works on location coordinates within the map. The aim of this paper is to study the effect of a user-friendly interface of a digital map with panoramic view, which would allow users to interact successfully in virtual environment. To measure user satisfaction level, a digital map has been developed as a case study for tourism industry. It was found that panoramic view has a direct impact on the satisfaction level of a tourist for the offered services. © 2008 IEEE.
