Description
Summary:Multi beam radiation characteristics are being required at 5G mobile base station and broadcasting satellite system. The spherical reflector antenna was proposed for multi beam application. However, spherical aberration reduced antenna gain. In this paper, the spherical aberration condition is analytically clarified by employing the focal region ray tracing method for dual spherical antenna configuration. MATLAB ray tracing program is developed to obtain ray concentration at the focal region. The calculated results show that the center sphere of the sub-reflector should be large as much as possible.
